About Us
Our company was founded by Jay Loken, a third generation craftsman whose construction career spanned over fifty years. He moved from Montana to Seattle in 1989 and began Loken Construction in 1992 out of the basement of his Ballard home.
Jay navigated the company through twenty-nine years of success working on projects throughout the Seattle area. Upon his retirement in 2021, his sons Carsten and Garth Loken together with longtime employee Nate Cunningham took over as co-owners of the company. Their experience working within the company under Jay’s guidance has led to renewed growth and expansion for Loken Construction.

Most work on our projects is performed “in house” and includes; concrete foundations and flat work, framing, door and window installation, exterior siding and trim, interior trim, and cabinet installation. The carpenters on staff are professional, prompt and efficient. The subcontractors we employ have been hand-picked over time and work with us on every project. They are familiar with our systems and produce the quality of work that we are known for.
